When I would start a game, like Skyrim SE or Civ 6, It would start to install the microsoft VC redist but imetatly stop and cancel the launch. I reinstalled the VC and nothing I still had the problem. Once NET Framework is all up to date (again might take a few reboots) then go here and install all the Visual C++ Runtimes: ~ If you have 64bit OS, download and install both variants (x86 and 圆4) of each VC++ Runtime (redist packages) ranging from 2005 all the way up to the 2015 versions as various Apps/Games will need a certain version. If WU doesn't show it available right away, manually click Check For Updates. Reinstall NET Framework via Windows Updates. After the junk file cleaning is complete, click the Registry cleanup and do that, two-three times just to be sure it removes all dead links from registry. Once that is done, run CCleaner, clean out the junk files, but be mindful of things you may wish to keep, such as Browser related files/cookies/history.
